After spending two years in the northern community of Puvirnituq, Emmanuelle Gauchier noticed a lack of activities for young girls between the age of 12 to 18 years old within the community. This is how the Centre Unicura started.
Après avoir passé deux ans dans la communauté nordique de Puvirnituq, Emmanuelle Gauchier a constaté un manque d'activités pour les jeunes filles âgées de 12 à 18 ans au sein de la communauté. C'est ainsi qu'est né le Centre Unicura.
GIRL INC.
The Girl Inc. program has two important mandates:
The first one is to create work opportunities and leardership skills for young adults in the northern community.
The second is to provide a safe environment for young girls to develop their identity and have fun.
Le programme Girl Inc. a deux mandats importants :
Le premier est de créer des opportunités de travail et de leardership pour les jeunes adultes de la communauté nordique.
Le second est de fournir un environnement sécuritaire aux jeunes filles pour les aider à développer leur identité et à s'amuser.
